Why Shias are persecuted in Malaysia?

Recently in Malaysia, some of you may have heard that more than 100 followers of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) have been detained by the Malaysian religious police. In Malaysia, it is fine if a Muslim want to be Christian, Buddhist or Hindu but not followers of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).The catastrophe of that event have lead an anti-Shia condition in Malaysia.

To answer why Shias are being persecuted in Malaysia like animals, we need to understand that Malaysia is not a moderate country like what all of you think. Malaysia is a country that is based on a certain ideology and principles. To make things worse, Wahabis also play a role in shaping the Malaysian Islamic Sharia law.

The raid that have been done by Selangor Islamic Religious Department towards Malaysian Shias is a fine example of division between Muslims. Datuk Khusrin who was the leader of that raid is not an expert in the field of Islamic religion but an expert of capitalistic economy. Woe to them all for creating discord.

According to prominent scholar Asri Zainul Abidin, "Malaysia is trying to become a country a la Taliban that only allows one school of thought,".
